I když je malé rozlohou a počtem obyvatel, je velmi významné v dodržování svých lidových a kulturních zvyků a tradic. V tomto prostředí působí od roku 1925 krojovaná dechová hudba DAMBOŘANKA.

DAMBOŘANKA - costume brass band

Halfway between the south-moravian towns Brno and Kyjov, in a beautiful valley in the Ždánický forest near the Moravian-slovak border, lies the village Dambořice. Although its size is small and its population is few, it is very famous for keeping its folk and cultural traditions. In this environment the band DAMBOŘANKA has been playing costume brass music since 1925, which is comprised of modest and enthusiastic amateur musicians.

Not only is DAMBOŘANKA significant in Dambořice and its surroundings but also abroad. It is almost impossible to imagine the many cultural events far and near Dambořice without the presence of DAMBOŘANKA and their active participation is shown through their appearances on television and radio and their various successful cassettes and CD’s. DAMBOŘANKA is lead by their bandmaster Mr. František Mayer and it has been under his lead that the band reached its biggest success. They play at dances and balls, folk banquets, variety shows, social and religious celebrations, organize concerts, etc.
